Curry Ramen!!!???

Curry Ramen...そのとおり、カレーラーメン。
Even for Japanese, it's a unique combination meal.
I love Curry and I love Ramen.
I love noodles (Soba, Udon, Yakisoba, Ramen Somen, Hiyamugi..)
I had Curry Udon before but I've never had Curry Ramen!
WOW.....my favorites in one.

The other day, I was browsing web and I found the Curry Ramen Speciality Restaurant in Nagoya City, Japan.
It's called ”Curry Ramen Menya KOKOICHI" (カレーらーめん麺屋ここいち)
All the menu items.....make me want to go there!

People say Curry Ramen was born in 1955.
In 1961 Nisshin Food company introduced "Chicken Ramen plus Curry".
So it's been around for a long time.

I wend to RAMENYA on Pico blvd. (near Sawtelle blvd.)
On the menu, I FOUND CURRY RAMEN!

OHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

So I ordered!

It was GOOOOOOOD! Dig it!
You also get Mugicha (Barley iced tea) for free :)

It's a popular place, so you may need to wait if you go there on lunch time hour.

DUSTY'S

My friend Hiroko's choice!
After we had Thai massage, there was a cute cafe close by.
It's like...Frenchie style??
It took a while to choose what I want.
Here is my choice.

Savory Crape: Dusty's Crape $13
asparagus, ham, Swiss cheese and béchamel sauce

Hiroko's choice: Croque Marcello $15
fig jam, San Daniele prosciutto, gorgonzola, walnuts & Swiss cheese au gratin

My Crape was good. And sweet potato fries was goood. (I requested instead of the regular potato fries.)

My friend and I were expected a different style of croque...
It was just a sandwich.
It was tasty though.

Shinsengumi HAKATA RAMEN

Hakata Ramen Gardena is the best Ramen place in this town.
The food is simple but the taste is sooooo gooood.
You can choose the hardness of the noodles, thickness and richness of the soup.
I usually get hard noodle and regular soup.

I went there for their anniversary and the ramen was only $3!
It usually cost $6.95 (It may be wrong...)
There was limit of 500 ramen on Saturday and Sunday each day.

The last day of my roommates life, my roommate Heidi, my husband and I went to a Mexican restaurant "Paco's Taco's" for lunch.
My husband and I don't usually eat Mexican food but she recommended and she loves this place.
So here is my order.

Yes, It's Giant Burrito! I shared with my husband.
The half was enough...since I was eating tortilla chips lots before.

Banning House Lodge - Two Harbors

Jerry and I met at Two Harbors 1 year ago, and we were celebrating 1 year anniversary at the same Island. We were not planning to stay over night here but Banning House Lodge had one room available for a night!

The Banning House Lodge was built in 1910 as the summer home for the pioneering Banning brothers, who owned Santa Catalina Island. Now a charming, Craftsman -style bed and breakfast, the Banning House Lodge offers sweeping views of the Isthmus of Catalina and Catalina Harbor from its romantic, hilltop perch above Two Harbors.

There is nice patio area and a fireplace launge.

There is complimentary breakfast - muffins, bagels, cereals, fruits, yogurt, coffee, orange juice...
It's good to know that there is also special breakfast to order. 2 kinds of quiche.

My friend used to take me and my new friend took me here recently.
I LOVE how they welcome customers! (not like Wabi Sabi...).

Wabi Sabi

Japanese Sushi Restaurant in Venice.
I was very disappointed at Wabi Sabi.
Do you remember when you step inside of the Japanese Restaurants, you hear "Irasshaimase~!". Sushi chefs yell at you!! Why do they say? They are welcoming you to the restaurant.
This Wabi Sabi, they don't welcome you...
They say...nada...I thought Sushi Chefs are Korean or Chinese...but they were Japanese.
Sushi quality was good but the service was terrible.
Overall, No DIG!
「いらっしゃいませ」も言ってくれないなんて、あかんなっ!
